    Spyderco CALY 3.5

Posted by Bryan LaRue on 26th Mar 2022

I’m giving this review 5 stars primarily because of White Mountain. I’ve purchased from them for a while now and they’re pretty awesome… shipping, customer service, inventory selection, and all around store; however, I was pretty disappointed receiving the CALY 3.5 this past week. When it arrived, the Spyderco factory box (Not WM’s shipping box… they’re shipping is superb) was ripped- and I gotta tell you I’m really OCD when it comes to the complete experience and package as a whole… box the knife comes in, the knife itself, customer service, shipping, etc. I know some could say I’m going overboard with the box being ripped but when you’re dropping hundreds of dollars on a knife, that shit better be perfect all around. The CALY would hardly even open because of metal shavings gunking up the knife. I literally had to take the knife apart which voids the warranty from Spyderco which blows but it had to be done because I don’t have the patience to send it back to WM and wait even longer for another one to come. After cleaning it, the knife opens fine and it really is a perfect edc knife. I don’t blame White Mountain at all because it probably came from the factory that way to them. I’ve never had any of these issues with them before. That is why they’re in my top 5 knife companies. Thank you WM for being awesome.
