    Kershaw Atmos

Posted by BRUCE YURMAN on 2nd Jul 2023

This is my second Atmos so these This review only concerns this knife from WMK.
The blade was off center and screws were too tight to loosen without fear of stripping torn screw heads to perform any of the simplest methods of centering a blade. The flipper tab was very rough so I feared stripping my index finger. The knife edge came very nice and
sharp. Knife is very light. Pocket clip slides smoothly onto fabric without fear of shredding it but is tight enough to keep the knife in your pocket. It's assisted opening is very nice and snappy. A centered blade with a slightly smoother jumped flipper tab and less locktited screws would result in a nice small knife.

    Excellent EDC Knife

I will admit that I am not much of a Kershaw fan and haven't been for the last 20 years. I have purchased several knives from them over the years and did not enjoy them. With that being said, I was more than pleasantly surprised with the Atmos. The ergos are fantastic, even with having larger then average hands (xxl glove size) it is comfortable to operate and hold even though it is small and it is a 3 finger knife for me. The action is very crisp and snappy, due to using ball bearings instead of washers. Its hollow grinds leaves it very thin behind the edge allowing it to be very slicy and ideal for every day cutting. The deep carry clip is great and glides over pants pockets without being too tight and eventually fraying the pockets. The weight is perfect for the size and falls under the ounce an inch rule. Fit and finish is good, blade centered and sharp out of the box, and no hotspots to speak of including with the clip. If you are a self proclaimed blade steel snob then the 8Cr13MoV may not be for you, but for what this knife is, and what it will most likely be used for on a daily basis, I think it is perfectly acceptable and does the job. The only gripe I have is with the carbon fiber overlay, which I feel should have been left off. Just the G10 scales would have worked for me. And that is honestly my only nitpick about the entire knife. All in all, I would recommend the Atmos to anyone that is looking for a lightweight, small, every day carry budget knife that you won't even know is in your pocket until you reach for it.
