14c28n, g10, and a steel frame lock may seem pretty pedestrian, but the Voltaic is a perfect example of something that is more than the some of its parts. Those common components come together to form an incredible testament to a great design. The action is excellent and the fuller is fully functional for deployment. The fit, finish, and overall quality are excellent. The inset G10 not only provides grip and aesthetic appeal, but also prevents lockbar overtravel. Steel framelocks are usually a bit weighty, but the Voltaic feels great in hand with a heft that makes it feel very sturdy without being overly heavy. While it isn't a knife I would ever describe as thin or lightweight, it does carry very nicely and has excellent ergonomics. I won't be surprised if the Voltaic becomes one of Civivi's more popular models and a permanent fixture in their line up.

I have 2 other CIVIVI's and they all sport excellent build quality, trickled down from their WE lineage, even their Sencut line has the same attention to detail in build quality. This VOLTAIC with the stainless steel handle scales has that same level of fit and finish, just amazing. The blade is a tumbled finish 14c28n drop point that is about 3mm thick, a perfect EDC blade shape and steel. Deployment is via flipper tab which is smooth and snappy due to the perfect detent. You can also spidey flick it with it's small fuller. The G10 inlays are perfectly fitted into the contoured SS handle scales. Access to the lock bar is easy due to the cut out and sub frame lock. The blade is running on ceramic bearings and it sports a deep reversible pocket clip. The knife is slim making it hardly noticeable when carrying even with a slightly heavier weight from having stainless steel handle scales which I like. Blade came sharp but I ran it across my strop as I always do. Just another beautiful knife from CIVIVI.

Classic design, love a drop point, the fuller is cool,a little heavy but you know it's there. I added the Civivi popsicle style titanium pocket chip and it really matches the design, making a cool knife even cooler.

I'm not generally thrilled with stainless steel handles on knives. In this case the design is what attracted me, and as a result I'm glad I gave it a try. The blade is a classic drop point, but the fuller adds to the overall style. The detent is set to work well with both the flipper and a middle finger flick using the fuller. The tip is not as delicate as the Savant so it will perform better on heavier tasks. Finally, it loses one point because there was no attempt at weight reduction, and consequently it's handle-heavy - not bad, but definitely noticeable. This is a great knife, and I would be willing to bet there will soon be more variations.
