    Quality!

Really nice knife. Superb quality, rex 45, Ti and linen micarta. What else do you need? A beast too. All from my favorite knife website!!

    Kizer Mystic

Interesting knife if only for the Rex 45 steel, but it has other virtues, namely excellent ergos and thumbstud deployment. Front flipper action is adequate, but not the best. Check Kizer Militaw for front flipper perfection. The Mystic is large but not cumbersome. Easy to disengage with guillotine drop shut action. I also like the looks. The designer has a unique style that definitely works for knives. I have the Kizer Clairvoyant and it’s also a cool knife. Def recommend the Mystic.

    Mind blowing

The out of the box action on this knife is mind blowing. Add to the drop shut action an incredibly light weight it's hijacking pocket time from knives that cost a lot more than the Mystic. A lot of reviews of this complain about the front flipper, but I get it everytime with absolutely no problems

a looker with a design flaw

Posted by Unknown on 11th Oct 2023

I was lucky to grab one of these during a restock. They went fast. The online reviews were glowing and it was a rare appearance of Rex45 on a Kizer blade. It has lovely lines. There is a mature aesthetic that is fancy without being fantastical. Action, as others have noted, is smooth. The micarta is nice. The bolster's finish seems a little patchy, but it might be the oil.

Here is the real negative. The top edge of the micarta scales adjacent to the bolster is a crisp 90 degrees. If Rex45 is a hard-use steel, the design is inconsistent with that purpose. Here are my thoughts on what does appear to be a design flaw. Either you use the knife lightly to avoid that hot spot, or you use the heck out of it, get the blisters, and maybe the micarta will wear down at that edge. I kinda like the latter scenario. I think this is a knife that will look good with the wear. Like a favorite pair of jeans, worn through regular use, instead of being distressed at the sweat shop.

I think the rest of the design and fabrication makes the Mystic one that I can still recommend.
