    Absolutely Outstanding

Ever since I saw this knife appear at Blade Show 2022, I was intrigued by it but something held me back from pulling the trigger. Finally I caved and got one. Zero regrets. The knife, while on the heavier side overall, feels surprisingly light for its size thanks in part to significant milling throughout the design as well as internal weight reduction and good balance point in the hand. The angle and shape of the blade is unique. It has a lot of belly but due to the downward swoop relative to the handle, the tip is low and good for utility work. The knife excels at pull cuts and feels like a formidable work knife in hand. It is also very good at light chopping. While the edge could have arrived sharper for the price, a quick touch up on my KME got it screaming sharp and I still managed to cut myself on the factory edge. The ergonomics are very good in all 3 grip positions, and are even decent in the left hand with choked up or choked back position (not as much in regular grip.) the pocket clip works great and is attractive. The action is the star of the show, though. Mine has a strong, crisp detent and is buttery smooth to close. Break in period took a few days, and opening hurt at first until detent broke in a bit and I added some a gunny glide lube. Now feels as smooth as a Koenig when closing, though I’m guessing a bit of that is due to the weight of the blade. Zero blade play in any direction. Overall, my only suggestion for improvement would be to make the stone wash on the blade a bit smoother and less chalky. It hides wear very well, but is course enough that it slightly reduces cutting performance. Overall a solid 9/10 for me, even as a lefty. This is by far the nicest Bestech I have ever handled and I highly recommend it.
