Zero Tolerance Knives Countdown: 12 of Our Top Sellers
9th Feb 2022
Zero Tolerance Knives, also affectionately known as ZT, owns quite a crown of devotees. Known for producing extremely high-quality, durable folding knives for first responders, law enforcement officers, paramilitary personnel, and EDC disciples across the country, their knives unapologetically ply the water of innovation. They’ve earned quite a reputation and an even more loyal customer base.
But which Zero Tolerance Knives offer the most value, or, alternatively, are objectively the most popular? Well, you can only get so far with “unbiased” reviews.
These are some of the top-selling ZT knives in our online collection, in ascending order. We saved the best for last.
1.Zero Tolerance 0235CF 20CV
This knife really stands out because it’s a slipjoint. The vast majority of ZT knives are locking folders, but this one lacks a locking mechanism as well as any advanced form of deployment action. It opens with a good old-fashioned nail nick and does not lock in place. That said, it’s not small - at over 6.3” overall, it’s as big or bigger than some other top Zero Tolerance Knives.
We love the pocket clip and the fact that it’s made with lightweight, strong, durable carbon fiber scales and with ultra-high quality 20CV super steel. It’s a great pick for those that for whatever reason don’t want to carry a locking folder or legally cannot do so.
2.Zero Tolerance 0762CF 20CV
It’s a shame this ZT knife is so far down the list from the top because it has a really unique design and useful blade profile that puts a lot of strength near the tip.
This little knife is not really all that little - at 8.1” overall and tipping the scales at 2.9 ounces, it handles almost like a fixed blade. It’s also attractively embellished with carbon fiber scales and blue furniture, but the gem of this knife is the blade steel and profile.
Made of 20CV steel, it offers excellent toughness, corrosion, hardness, and edge retention. It’s a little hard to resharpen, but it is what it is. Also, the nearly-recurved, reverse tanto point blade provides excellent tip integrity for piercing and penetration while preserving plenty of belly for cutting and chopping.
3.Zero Tolerance 0350 S30V G10
Probably the most humble-looking ZT knife on this list, the ZT 035 with G10 scales and S30V blade steel may also be the toughest.
All black, the knife features large, comfortable handle scales made of G10 that are not absorbent, offer excellent tactile grip, and are basically impervious to corrosion.
The blade sports a slightly recurved profile with a stout drop point and has plenty of spine for hard cutting, piercing, or chopping. We do need to say that it’s tough to resharpen S30V, but what you get back in edge retention makes it worth it.
4.Zero Tolerance 0770CF S35VN
This is another ZT knife with a modified sheepsfoot/reverse tanto style blade, and this one also sports carbon fiber scales.
Simple in appearance but easy to carry and comfortable in the hand, this 0770 is tough and great for EDC. The comfortable carbon fiber handles and utilitarian blade profile pair perfectly, as does ZT’s artful use of S35VN super steel.
5.Zero Tolerance 0460 TI 20CV
This knife may not be the top seller on this list, but it probably takes the cake for “cool factor” Designed by knife legend Dmitry Sinkevich, the 0460 TI has a lot of features that most users will simply love.
It’s gracefully swept, trailing 20CV blade is both attractive and practical for making long, sweeping cuts. It also retains a fairly fine point that can be great for carving or detail work. It also indexes beautifully and has exceptionally strong, light titanium scales - and we’ve already said plenty about the 20CV!
6.Zero Tolerance 0357 20CV G10
It may be plain, but the 0357 is ergonomic and downright tough. It’s also one of the few knives on here with G10 scales that offer an excellent grip, are resistant to moisture, weather, and temperature, and require almost no maintenance.
It also indexes well in a variety of grips, not to mention the fact that the 20CV steel offers such great wear and corrosion resistance paired to edge retention.
7.Zero Tolerance 0393GLCF 20CV
This Zero Tolerance knife, designed by knife guru Rick Hinderer, is a looker of the same magnitude as the 0460 mentioned above, even if it’s just a step down the “flashy” ladder.
Attractive, comfortable grooves and durable carbon fiber scales round out the handle, which is comfortable, indexes naturally, and are also naturally devoid of hot spots.
The 20CV blade has jimping along the spine as well as an attractive swedge that does more to give the knife personality than it does to make the knife functional - but it was packed with utility from the start, so it deserves little blame.
8.Zero Tolerance 0609 220CV Titanium
RJ Martin’s ZT 0609 also has a lot of class and character, with its attractively swedged, drop point blade profile, and adequately and comfortably grooved scales.
The highlight of this knife is probably the set of anodized bronze titanium scales that accompany it. They’re tough, comfortable, low-maintenance, resistant to corrosion, and cool. All in all, it’s a great all-purpose EDC knife, and one that packs a lot of value for the price, too, making it no wonder it’s one of our top sellers among all ZT knives.
9.Zero Tolerance 0640 CF 20CV
The ZT 0650 looks almost like a dagger with a needle point, and it’s optimized for piercing and penetration. That said, it still carries plenty of straight edges, so despite the long, thin profile, it’s great for general-purpose cutting and slicing tasks.
Also, don’t be fooled by its slim proportions. It may be slender, but it’s tough as nails and it carries comfortably in a variety of grips, with no discernible hot spots.
10.Zero Tolerance 0450 S35VN Titanium
This all-silver 0450 catches the attention with its satin blade and stonewash titanium scales - it’s an everyman’s EDC knife, with plenty of belly for slicing and a fine point for penetration. It locks firmly (thanks to its stout framework) and carries comfortably well.
One of the top-selling Zero Tolerance knives on this list, it’s not one to look past.
11.Zero Tolerance 0452CF S35VN
Straight-backed, almost like an iconic Finnish knife, the 0452 looks nearly like a Mora. This one has a KVT ball-bearing system and opens smoothly and locks surely.
It also is flashy and light, thanks to its carbon fiber scales, which are both strong and tough, not to mention attractive. As for the blade - which sports a generic, straight-backed profile - It’s made of S35VN super steel.
It made be a bear to resharpen, but it will hold its edge for a long time and it’s one of the top alloys out there for corrosion resistance, toughness, and strength, too.
12.Zero Tolerance 0562TI 20CV
The finale, the top-selling Zero Tolerance pocket knife on our website, is the Rick Hinderer-designed ZT 0562TI with a 20CV blade.
Attractive, comfortable, bombproof, stonewashed titanium scales complete the handle, which sports a pocket clip and a super-strong, very reliable framelock mechanism.
As for the blade, it's a 20CV, 3.5” basic drop point with a flat grind, a mild swedge, and a bit of jimping along the spine.
Simple, but practical, and sometimes simple speaks for itself in ways that too many words just can’t. It’s the best-selling ZT knife on our website.
