    Don't sleep on the Durus

Posted by Jeremy Snyder on 10th Jan 2020

So after carrying the Praxis for over a year now, and getting really comfortable with it's size, I thought it time I gave a new knife a try. I decided I was going to purchase a new normal sized EDC and had my eye on a Elementum, just to see what all the fuse was about. Honestly though, I wasn't very fond of the looks of the knife itself or the D2 steel, even though all the reviews rave on about it... So I kept shopping. After almost pulling the trigger on another Praxis (this time with the Damascus steel and NO GOLD LINERS) and a hooligan (didn't like the thumb stud, wanted a flipper). I decided to go outside my comfort zone and got this Durus with the Damascus steel instead. And let me tell you, I could not have made a better decision. Fits great in my hand, lightening fast action, and the G10 is super grippy... As all Civivis I've purchased, the blade came sharp as all get out. Ran it over a strop a couple times out of the box and it was shaving hairs. It looks phenomenal also, and much bigger than what I expected. Reading the reviews, I thought it was going to be much smaller. But actually feels bigger in the hand than the Baklash which felt reall small to me. I can't comment on how the edge holds up in time, or how well it keeps its edge, because I've only carried it for about 3 days now. But, first impressions are, WOW! The Damascus looks much better in person and isn't flashy. If your on the fence about buying a Durus, just do it. This may be my new favorite EDC. I LOVE my Praxis and still plan on purchasing the Damascus version (Unless I buy the Brigand instead.. Or maybe the Incite) But, for now the Durus is my ride or die... It's a sleeper

My third Civivi knife. ( Backlash & Elemental ). Durus is another winner. Great action, feels good in the hand. This is my first damascus blade. Was a little worried about the look being too "artsy" but it's really subdued in person. Very satisfied!

Civivi Durus Liner Lock Black G10 Scales Damascus Blade

Posted by Geoffrey Yuen on 31st Aug 2019

I gave my Durus Liner Lock G10 Damascus knife a 5 star rating because it's a very good knife, but more importantly it's a fantastic value. Great ergonomics for a little big knife, feels great in hand, snappy flipping action, and the gorgeous Chinese Damascus blade is very sharp right out of the box. The pocket clip is not the best looking one out there, but it functions just fine. Overall, this is a great knife for such an affordable price.

high quality. high performance
