Wanted a Damascus folder, and thought I would try a button lock. My normal EDC is an ancient vintage Al Mar sere, or an old leek, so that's my point of reference. Bought this based on all the glowing reviews of civivi knives in general. I think this knife just doesn't live up to all the hype. For $50.00 I would probably be thrilled. I have two other Chinese knives, a bestech and a kizer. This lacks the attention to detail that those seem to have. The detent is really rough. The jimping on the spine and flipper is rough, like the blade never got it's final polish.
Overall, still a great tool. Love the shape of the blade and the ergonomics. Plenty sharp out of the box. Just needed a few passes on the strop to polish the edge.
Bottom line: certainly my last civivi, and likely my last Chinese knife. Think I simply set my expectations way too high.

Well, there it is. Am I an expert in this category? Maybe, maybe not. About 25 or "affordable" folder purchases in 2023. This is absolutely the best(close 2nd to Vision) It's 8"+, perfect blade shape(imo) and quality damascus (in the range) Well, I went 1 better and bought the red/black with K110 and swapped blades. So, I have a red/black with damascus blade and a green/black with K110 blade. This is my favorite EDC folder. I can't speak on blade characteristics just yet. The knife is perfect, I'll save the subtle whine about the pocket clip, that's a future project.
Buy this knife, if you can find them.

Fantastic knife… Drop shut action… Four different ways to open … Can Even open with reverse flag by just putting finger on the back of the blade… Beautiful stainless Damascus worth twice the price…

This is the ~$100 knife for 2023! Loved it so much, ordered a 2nd one in red/black!
