    Blown Away

First of White Mountain always has fast shipping and this arrived just in time for Christmas. Even though it was ordered last minute.

Knife itself is awesome. Its my first natural g10 knife and it looks gorgeous. From fit and finish to sharpness the knife is exactly what I hoped. Even the pocket clip which is typically list as a con isnt that bad.

Overall if you are lookint for a great reverse tanto knife. With a strong lock up at a good price look no further.

A Vision that I want to see

This FG version of the Vision knife is the best one yet. I hope they update the We to this Civivi version because the Superlock is flawless, has great gimping, is not uncomfortable, and stays in place. This is the one to get. Great budget steel, too.

    Decent but overrated

The main problem when thinking about the Vision FG, is that anyone who has ever handled an AD20.5 is going to compare the locking system. They aren’t identical but the basic operation is so similar it is almost impossible to avoid making a comparison. As the AD20.5 is almost twice the price, it shouldn’t be a surprise that the shark lock is better.

Okay, now that the obvious is out of the way, the Vision FG is a really decent offering. The handle is a bit blocky but you have good freedom to move around on it. The handle texture isn’t super grippy and I personally would like a bit more texture or some jimping to improve lock in.

As there is a generous finger choil I think the lack of jimping on the blade is a mistake. The thumb studs do assist in stabilizing the blade when choked up. The blade shape itself is very useful for utility cuts and the grind feels like it comes down to a fine edge.

The pocket clip sucks. No other way to describe it. I had an old Civivi Praxis that had a better clip and swapped them. The one that comes on the Vision is simply uncomfortable in my hand when gripping the knife with any force. Civivi needs to do a much better job on the clips.

The lockout is solid, there is no blade play and the action is smooth. Lock operation is intuitive and one handed operation is easy whether thumb flicking, wheeling the blade out, or using the lock.

Overall, a recommendable knife, but far less impressive than I expected.

    Vision FG

My first thought after handling this knife was that it seemed very sturdy in a way that wasn't typical for Civivi knives. Full steel liners contribute to that, but the fact is it's not that heavy. Although the lock release isn't sharp, it can still begin to wear on a finger with repeated use as with the Demko Shark Lock. I like the simplicity of these types of locks compared to the axis/bar locks, but in use they tend to be slightly less comfortable to operate IMO. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this knife but compare this lock with other types before buying if possible. I think this knife is more likely to handle fairly heavy cutting tasks than other recent Civivi models.
