The Cold Steel 4 MAX Scout is tough. It may not be made of the same expensive, bomb-proof materials as its predecessor, the 4 MAX, but it is an excellent compromise between durability and value. The Cold Steel 4 Max Scout is easier to produce and is a far more affordable alternative. It features an extra wide, drop point blade and stone wash finish, which is identical to the original 4 Max. It's crafted from 5mm thick AUS 10A steel, for strength, toughness and edge holding potential. The knife shipped quickly, and arrived without issue.

I like this knife. Could totally be used as a survival fixed blade replacement. It is huge! It will fit in jeans pockets though. Fit and finish, pivot, lock up all are great. And great price. Only draw back for me is the handle texture is so grippy it will rip my pocket to shreds if I carry it often.

Amazingly ergonomic for the heaviest, most extreme, folding knife you’d ever imagine wielding. Awesome value. Awesome knife.

I liked my first 4 Max Scout; so much so, that I almost immediately purchased a second-copy from White Mountain. This folder is a very heavy-duty, tactical war-blade. It was very easy to change the orientation for left-handed usage. I routinely carry large-folders; so this one, is very EDC-able. Combining AUS-10A steel with the Demko; tri-ad lock-system, you have both a dependable, and an affordable lifesaver. The knife shipped quickly, and arrived without issue. It came from the box factory-sharp, with a perfectly centered-blade, and bank-vault lock-up! Cold Steel keeps knocking-it-out-of-the-park!
