3000 grit Diamond tape is only recommended for finishing ceramic knives. 

For the longest lasting edge use these tapes to create an ultra fine finish. 

They require a "polish tape blank" and have their own adhesive backing. 

Polish tapes can be used approximately 10 times before they need to be replaced.
