Aloha all, I'm not stranger to budget knives, so I don't think my review is harsh-- just honest. First off, the lockup was very poor-- only half of the already thin liner was engaging the blade. I thought it may be a break-in issue, but after playing with it a bit, it remained the same. I resolved it by taking the knife apart and filing down the edge of the liner. Second, the micarta scales were not properly finished, leaving a few strands of fiber poking out of the edge where it meets the liner. Not sure if it would actually wick in moisture/oils, so I trimmed it and will later seal it with super glue. For minor stuff, there's a slight favoring of the blade toward the locking side of the liner when stowed, but it's straight when open. Also, when the blade is closed, the back of it has a tiny gap between the base of the back edge and the scales-- sorta like what the Benchmade Mini Bugout has. Some companies mill a hook into this spot so you can open bottles with it, but extending the scales slightly to cover it up would look better. The "torpedo bulge" on the scales look better suited on WWI battleships, but I suppose they're to help keep friction with the pocket clip. They don't create hotspots or make grilling the knife uncomfortable at all. Finally, the serrations on the kicker could use a little more bite: the Sencut Sachse is a good example to model, in my opinion. The gimping on the blade itself is fine. Finally, the glass breaker is rounded, so not sure how well it'll work until I get to try it out. My Benchmade Triage has an excellent one, but the cheap S&W HRT knife gifted to me is worthless, as the glass breaker actually blunted at a call we responded to!
This is a great knife for the price. Came super sharp and the action is excellent. Budget knife with quality materials. Only speculation but seems to look like it’s made by Stedemon/Vouking.
