I have wanted a cormorant for a while but just didn't dig the black and white X & O thing till this one came along. The second I saw this Ti frag version, had to have it. And wow, expensive yes, perfect yes. The built quality, attention to detail, action, everything, flawless. It opens about eight different ways. Well maybe five. Regardless, it is the figit king. The blade came soooo sharp, maybe the sharpest factory edge I have ever seen. It is just so well made. And 20cv steel too! The frag is very grippy but not too grippy. And the tiny frag pattern on the clip is a nice touch. If you like the cormorant, buy it, buy this one if you want titanium.
If you like the Kizer Cormorant, then this is an easy recommendation. Its weight and weight distribution are different from the non-titanium models of course, but there is significant milling to keep the weight down. The action and lockup feel solid with no blade play. The feel of the handle has that chalky bead blasted texture (that I personally like) on the frag pattern that is really nice. The hollow grind is sweet and the blade comes very sharp.
Now the Cormorant design may be polarizing, but it shouldn't. Some think it is ugly and I thought so too, when I first saw it. Not anymore. For whatever reason, the look appeals to me. I think it looks awesome. Maybe that is a reason I have six different models, with two more on the way. Of course the main reason I like the Cormorant so much is the multiple deployment options and the button lock. It is the penultimate fidget knife; even more so than the Winterblade Factor in my opinion (which I was fortunate to purchase as well).
Finally, there is the quality of which anyone owning a Kizer will know. To me Kizer knives are purpose-built tools that have a high end utility feel to them with fantastic actions and phenomenal detents. Being a multi-deployer, the Cormorant has a compromise-style detent, but it has to. This does not harm the action in any way, especially considering how almost perfect the detent has to be for all the different deployment methods. Kizer, being Kizer gets the job done and has put out another solid design and folder in general. And the price is right.
Not a big knife, it isn't small either. All fingers fit easily in normal and choke-up grip. The grip is a little unconventional with the design compromising finger placement, but it is not at all uncomfortable...you get used to it. Overall, it is a no-brainer if you like the Cormorant design and a good gamble to try out if you are unsure. It is absolutely a classic that is probably going to become one of Kizer's flagship models, like the PM2 became for Spyderco. A really good and fun knife.
This knife is Perfect! Maybe could be a little bigger but otherwise it is perfect! The titanium scales, no steel liners! Button Lock! Multiple deployment options!
So many ways to open this knife. Great button lock, thumb roll, under flick, everything just works. It is a smaller knife, similar to a Para 3. Nice EDC, good grip, and not a pocket shredder. Cuts like a laser, and love the 20CV. Handle does look darker in person than in the picture. A little pricey, but very nice.
