Skelton Bladeworks x Reawaker Knives – Trimaxion

 

Breaking from established tradition, Jim Skelton of Skelton Bladeworks introduces the first folding knife in the brand’s lineup not derived from a prior custom fixed blade design. The Trimaxion was conceived from the outset as a dedicated folder, built around a vision of sleek, futuristic styling paired with a uniquely sculpted handle profile.

 

Following the design phase, extensive effort was made to identify a manufacturing partner capable of delivering exceptional fit, finish, and materials at a highly competitive price point. After evaluating multiple factories, production was entrusted to Reawaker—an emerging brand backed by the highly capable JXT facility—marking their introduction to the North American market.

 

The name Trimaxion draws inspiration from the classic film Flight of the Navigator. In the film, the spacecraft’s AI—“Max,” short for Trimaxion—controls a shape-shifting vessel capable of transforming between two distinct forms. This duality is reflected in the knife’s design language: a dynamic, streamlined aesthetic that conveys motion and precision even at rest. Your Trimaxion is certainly a representation of "Pursuit Mode", the elongated, super slippery mode that the Navigator can choose for Max to shift into.

About Jim Skelton:

Jim began making custom knives by hand in Dallas, Texas in 2016 and retired in 2023 (early retirement due to health issues that prevented him from working safely in his shop). A lifelong knife lover, collector and user, Jim began reviewing knives on Youtube in 2012 and grew his following from there, making his transition into a successful knifemaker easier with his built-in fanbase. As his skills grew, so did his waitlist, topping out at 2 years at one point, soon after becoming a voting member in The Knifemakers' Guild. Retired now from knifemaking and the Guild, Jim partners with high quality OEMs from around the world and yes, China included, to release his designs as production knives a couple of times per year. 2026 seems like a busy year with as many as 4 releases expected.
