To be honest, out of the box this thing was terrible. I bought this knife for the design and was really disappointed when I pulled it out. The lock stick was bad, it wasnt centered, and the grind was terribly uneven. I still liked the design though, so I took it apart, put my own edge on it, got it centered, and played with it enough to where the action is good.
THIS IS NOT A DROP SHUTTY KNIFE. Nor does it want to be. The action is smooth and the washers are impregnated with lubricant. This is the type of action I prefer on my knives. If you expect drop shutty bearings, you will be disappointed.
I enjoy carrying this thing now. My main gripe is that the blade stock is very thick, so this will never be as slicey as other blades you own, but it will do the job. Its extremely light and easy to carry with a beautiful blade profile.
If the fit and finish was better out of the box, they might have a real competitor for lightweight EDC king. I know CTS-XHP is a great steel, but man they could've shown it off a lot better by getting a better edge geometry. This thing is so close to being a great knife, its annoying. It will make lots of people happy, but maybe be prepared to do some work on it out of the box.
Knife is not centered and has hot spots front the liner lock that sticks on occasion. Wish it was centered and action was better at this price point. But like the xhp steel.
I was excited to see how Spartan budget knives held up. Action is stiff, lock stick is pretty bad. Ergos are great G10 is grippy, blade needed a good strop out of the box.
