Fit and finish were pretty good on this example, blade centering was good and no sharp edges on the FRN. The bevel grind was pretty uneven though and there was evidence of belt chatter, my first experience with this from a Spyderco knife. This gave me an excuse to give it an early sharpening. As advertised, the SPY27 does sharped up pretty quick and I was able to get a razor edge with minimal effort on just a SharpMaker and strop.

The Native 5 itself is excellent though. Great ergos and if you like back locks, this lock will make you happy. Insane lock up and the action is stiff but smooth.

This is my first experience with the Native 5. It is quite substantial and well made. My only complaint is that the action is very stiff. Loosening and oiling the pivot may remedy this problem.
