    Good Steel, Excellent Action

Posted by Robert W on 29th Mar 2021

Great action out of the box. Spydie flick, thumb flick, and Spydie drop all possible from day one. I've seen a few Spyderco's lately that had uneven bevel grinds. This one was like that also. It was not real sharp either. All that is good now and cuts like a razor. Beautiful steel to work with, I think better than S30V. White Mountain Knives is an excellent place to do business with and got my knife to me quickly.

    Awesome!

Posted by Edwin on 26th Mar 2021

Honestly I was taken aback about how nice this knife is, compared to my G10 para 3, this thing is a feather but has all the same ergos and performance capabilities. If you are looking for a lightweight option on a great knife definitely pick this one up! Also Spy27?!! Wow what a great steel, IMO this is gonna be a great addition to spydercos already extensive steel list but the great thing is, it’s NOT A SPRINT!!!

Nice color, bad factory blade grind

Posted by Rob W on 24th Mar 2021

This review in no way is a bad reflection on White Mountain Knives! This is all Spyderco's issue. The knife looked really nice, the color is superb. The action was perfect out of the box. The issue is blade grind. Logo side of blade was less than 13 degrees at tip and varied in degrees back to heel. At heel on both sides of blade it looked like the blade sat too long in one spot.On the other side of blade the bevel at tip was 17 degrees and varied to heel at 19 degrees. I had to work on this blade to get it sharp, dull out of the box. Sharp Spydie hole as well. Tighten up Spyderco!
