Actually, I would rate this model at 4.5 and note that new models seem to be improving. The blade was sharp with a near even bevel on each edge. The pivot and single body screw fit D-shaped retainers. This model uses SS washers between the roller bearings (not thrust bearings) and the titanium frame. Why SRM hasn't used SS washers in some of it's lower priced titanium flippers is a mystery). Pocket clip AND screws are recessed (thank you SRM). The action, after getting the gunk out, is pretty good. There are only a few lines on the otherwise bare titanium handle, but with this design the minimal milling seems to work.

Now the nitpicks: 1. The lockup is about 50% which is more than I like, but acceptable . 2. The bearings and pivot were covered in a thick silicone-like grease - which should be removed and replaced with a light oil.

SRM knives seem to be improving with each new round of models. Let's hope that continues!
