    a perfect city-carry and field-carry knife

Posted by JS on 29th Jul 2022

I just received my Tactile Knife Rockwall, and it is a beauty. It looks, feels, and moves great. There are many levels of happiness holding this in my hands, including the thought that this beautiful tool was put together in the US. My first experience with Magnacut steel was in the slipjoint sibling, the Bexar. That sticky-sharp edge of the Bexar blade is amazing, but I feel the steel has found its true purpose here. The thickness of the Rockwall's blade and handle lends itself to more robust tasks. Like the Bexar, the look of it is beautifully understated and the design's focus is on function. It is a tidy piece of well-designed, well-fabricated steel.

Because of its utility, this may be the knife that could be carried for more occasions than any other knife. There is a simple but thoughtful aesthetic that could be almost Scandinavian. Perfect for the office. It is also utilitarian milled steel that would take on most tasks in the garage, in the field, and in the stream.

Some knives are too pretty or too cleverly designed or just too darn expensive to put to daily tasks. This one looks ready for work, as much as a Benchmade would be.

Mine came in a tidy box with a certificate of authenticity, the blade sharp and the movement smooth. It's not the cheapest knife, but well worth what I paid. White Mountain Knives' free shipping and no additional tax is a meaningful savings from the other retailers. I am very happy with the purchase.

I noticed it has already sold out. Get it on your wish list and save up for it. It should be in every knife enthusiast's collection.
