    Unbeleivable Value.

The TS162 is such an incredible knife for the price.
The detent is dialed in with perfection. The pivot action is spot on.
All the torx screws are #8 which is awesome. The carbon fiber scales are real, and solid. The bolsters are Titanium and blend seamlessly together with the carbon fiber handles.
The blade shape is phenomenal; excellent for slicing, and pointy enough for easy piercing.
It's the knife of the year regardless of price.

    TwoSun TS162-Carbon/Titanium S90V

Posted by ddw on 21st Feb 2021

I have been a knife collector and enthusiast for many years and have owned many hundreds of nice knives. I am a casual machinist, but manage a machine shop where we make polymer parts for Aerospace. I hope my attention to detail is better than normal.
Design preferences are always subjective, but I feel this is a very well designed knife with a TON of attention to detail. The high flat grind and edge curvature make this a great design in my opinion for most cutting tasks. I don’t have much use on the edge yet, but the factory sharpness was amazing. I have felt for years that Spyderco set the standard for factory sharpness. This was delivered as sharp as any Spyderco I have owned including some high end with exotic steels. The S90V on this TS162 easily “push” cut very thin slivers of confetti all over my desk. The fit and Finish of this knife is on par with highest end Benchmade and Spyderco knives I have seen that cost $250 - $350+ The action is exceptional. The ergos, comfort and fit in the hand are excellent. There are no burrs, but there are a few sharp corners that I would prefer have slightly more “knocked down” or a bit more radius - especially at a few sharp corners around the lock-bar under index finger, but these are nit-picky points.
There is one Glaring issue with this knife - the design of the pocket-clip. The pocket-clip is very nice looking/great aesthetics and finish of the pocket clip is impressive. It is only attached with one very well finished screw and perfectly fit into a milled oval slot to prevent rotation and loosening, but the lead-in ramp is too blunt and not enough clearance to properly go into jean pockets. Maybe it works for other “thin” pant pocket materials, I don't know, but it is horrible for my "normal" blue jeans. Once in pocket, it is a bit tight so deployment is not best, but OK. However, getting into pocket is a ridiculous miss on design. Outside of this one issue, this knife is amazing at any price point and an EXTREMELY nice knife for this low a price. I wish TwoSun would fix the pocket clip design, hope they avoid such mistakes in the future AND I wish they would offer an option to replace the non-functional pocket clip that came on this knife. Otherwise, I am extremely impressed.
