Fit and finish of this knife is beautiful. I am a lefty so attempted to change clip to other side. Clip filler must be glued in, and cannot remove it to change. Strike one. Noticed blade sharpening bevels were uneven but felt somewhat sharp. Have only opened a couple packages and sliced a little paper. Checked edge again. It was round and would not even stick to my thumb nail. I am disgusted that this premium steel ever got by quality control and into my hands. Strike two! I will finish sharpening myself, but Vosteed, never again.

They don’t always come out with premium blade knives bt when they do they always seem to be top notch in quality & execution. This is one of it. I like the blade geometry & the flawless action that this knife has. Always looking forward to more of this kind from Vosteed.

I’ve wanted a thunderbird ever since they first dropped, the look of the knife and opening options were key selling points at the time. When I seen WMK had models in m390 and this particular color of Gmascus, I was sold. WMK did a fantastic job of shipping promptly once again, just wanted to throw that out there.

The packaging on the thunderbird is quite nice, some would argue it could be priced even less if they had skipped the fancy box and customary zippered pouch, but I like the presentation Vosteed goes with on these knives.

Out of the box the knife flips open quite smoothly. I’m an avid spyderco knife user, this vosteed can be reversed flicked easily enough despite having a smaller hole than I’m used to. I’ve never been good at front flipping, but I’d imagine if you are a fan of that method you’ll have no issues as well.

Centering was dead on. Blade grind looked to be perfect and it came very sharp out of the box.

Other nice features were skeletonized nested steel liners, recessed and reversible pocket clip (sort of deep carry), filler tab for the unused side, fine jumping on opening tabs, and overall no real hot spots on the handle, clip placement, or blade itself.

The push button could have been a little larger, however it is easily located and activated. The checkering on the button is a little more aggressive, but I think this aids in its activation considering its smaller size.

When activated the knife needs just a small jiggle and the blade will drop shut.

Overall this reasonably priced knife met and exceeded my expectations and am very happy with it and WMK’s service.
