From the beginning of my time collecting and buying, I was never a Zero Tolerance fan. The designs did not appeal to my particular aesthetic preferences. Hinderer, too, was never prominent on my radar. I get it now. ZT makes a solid knife. If my purchase is a typical example of their production, their factories and QC are top tier.

The Hinderer design was a humbling lesson for me. The ergonomics are fantastic and I see how deliberate the design is to contributing to grip and hard use. The flipper tab that serves as a finger guard is probably one of the prominent design features of Hinderer-designed knives. I appreciate how that simple feature makes the grip more secure during use.

The carbon fiber, also not my favorite material, is milled well. It looks like it will last, but it is not particularly fancy.

I get the feeling that part of the ZT heritage is its appeal to a user that might like a bit of swagger in their knives. Nowadays, even the streets have sweet-looking knives, like the designs coming from Chavez. The collaboration with Hinderer seems uncharacteristic, but it works. Now that I have had a Hinderer-designed knife in my hands, I know why I will want to buy more in the future.
