10 Great New CRKT, Kizer, and CIVIVI Knives (and Others)

30th Jan 2023

The 2023 SHOT Show just brought a whole bunch of new greatness to the outdoor field, and as always, the knife manufacturers of the world have not disappointed.

Here are ten new great CRKT, Kizer, and CIVIVI knives (and others), some of which were just revealed in Vegas at the SHOT Show.

Benchmade Narrows EDC

The Narrows actually is Benchmade’s only new brand line for 2023, but it’s named, and designed, appropriately. It’s apparently 33% thinner than the Bugout - which makes it lighter and easier to carry - perfect for EDC.

Light, thin, and finished with lightweight-yet-strong titanium scales and anodized hardware, this keynote entry is a welcome addition to Benchmade’s line.

CRKT Definitive

CRKT in its brand new Definitive has taken a page out of Benchmade’s playbook, with a bar-style lock that CRKT calls a “Crossbar lock.” Companies like Schrade are jumping on board, too, but they call it a Pivot lock.

The Definitive boasts lightweight G10 scales, a graceful harpoon point, and 154CM stainless steel. Pair this with an exceptionally strong lock system that’s southpaw-friendly, and you have a winner.

Hogue Counterstrike

Out-the-front needlepoint fans, this entry is for you. The Hogue Counterstrike, brand new for 2023, is packed with features.

It’s an automatic, and features a MagnaCut stainless steel blade, aluminum handles with a carbon fiber overlay, a glass breaker, a pocket clip, ambidextrous deployment, and more.

Kershaw Iridium

Kershaw is a fan-favorite among many everyday carry practitioners who prefer a folding knife and it’s easy to see why. The company is consistently at the forefront of innovation with technological trailblazers like SpeedSafe Assisted Opening and Composite Blades.

The Iridium delivers. Kershaw’s also jumping on the bar-lock bandwagon, and they call it a DuraLock. It’s the AXIS lock, though, don’t let it fool you.

This design features D2 steel, a basic drop point blade, and aluminum scales. It’s a workhorse, like most Kershaw knives.

Kizer Azo Drop Bear

              CIVIVI knives

The Kizer Azo Drop Bear is only relatively new, but it’s made enough waves that it deserves a place here. It’s available in a few different blade steel configurations and with a variety of different handle scales. It’s common with both 154CM and 20CV steels.

It features a spear-point blade and is usually made with aluminum scales - but guess, once again, what the defining feature is here.

It’s a bar lock - and Kizer calls it a Clutch Lock, but we know what it is. Still, you can’t argue with it since it’s ambidextrous and super strong.

Kizer Azo Towser S

We recently did a feature on the Kizer Towser K - the Towser S is worth a look, too.

Available here with either Richlite or Micarta scales and with a 154CM blade, the Towser S is, in many ways, Kizer’s answer to the CRKT Pilar. Pocket cleavers are, like bar locks, becoming very popular.

The Towser S offers great ergonomics and a durable design that can’t be matched at a relatively affordable price point. Check them out.

CIVIVI Foldis Front Flipper

If you liked the CIVIVI knives Elementum or even the Lumi front flipper, you’ll love the Foldis front flipper.

The cornerstone of the Folder is the fact that it’s made with Nitro-V steel, which, thanks to its nominal nitrogen content, takes an excellent heat treatment, and can take and hold an amazing edge.

It also offers great ergonomics and is extremely fidget friendly.

CIVIVI Elementum II Button Lock

Here’s another one you’d like if you liked the CIVIVI knives’ Elementum - the Elementum II, which is available with a button lock and a flipper tab mechanism. It seems like liner lock mechanisms are scarce this year.

It has the same things everyone loved about the Elementum button lock, chiefly the button lock, dimensions, and scale configuration.

But this one is made with a Nitro-V steel blade, which as mentioned, offers excellent edge retention.

Eikonik RCK9

The Eikonik RCK9, which we offer here with G10 scales and a D2 blade, offers a straight-backed design that offers great utility and carries easily.

We won’t overdo it. Simplicity is the ultimate sophistication, and the RCK9 is just about as simple and practical as it gets.

Eikonik Kasador

             CIVIVI knives

Like the RCK9, the Kasador pocket knife features a D2 blade, but comes with micarta scales. It also has a graceful drop point, an almost leaf-shaped blade, in place of the RCK9’s straight back.

They’re different iterations of the same animal. If you prefer a drop-point and a wide blade, the Kasador is for you.

Either way, Eikonik offers other great designs too - check them out via our brand collection above.
