This had been my dream knife for quite some time. Went ahead and purchased the budget version from WMK (Byrd Crossbill) and 2 weeks after it arrived, the Harpy was suddenly back in stock, so I rushed and bought it as well. Now I am that weird guy with 2 hawkbill knives... oh well.

The Harpy is an awesome knife - the VG10 blade still came as sharp as hell OOB, as one would expect. The SS satin handles are ergonomically designed enough for me not to worry about grip, despite there being no jimping whatsoever (well, it is a slasher, not a thruster). The SS handles are prone to smudges, but we're all adults here... Carry a manly handkerchief and you're set.

The harpy is an excellent blade. Very good F&F and the spyderedge came razor sharp. The SS steel handles are a bit slick but they lend a quality feel to the knife. The pocket clip is sturdy and does not feel cumbersome in hand. If you chose to reverse it for tip up carry it ends up a bit high though and quite a bit of the knife protrudes from your pocket.

The action was a bit rough OotB but that's nothing a little grease can't take care of.

A hawkbill of course has it's limitations but if you're in the market for this type of blade you will not be dissapointed with the Spyderco harpy.
