I bought this because of the edge retention of K390, plus the thin blade at .090 and the Wharncliffe blade configuration. I didn't want a curved edge for cutting leather and this knife cuts 3/16th or 12 oz veg tan leather easily without dulling. I thought I'd have to wear a glove for long hard cuts, but I seldom ever do, it is comfortable to cut with the way I do it and easy to make tight cuts with and easier than an exacto knife. I put most of by leather knives away and mostly use this.
