    Fine reverse grip design

Posted by Pekititirsia on 29th Oct 2023

I have trained in Kali for years, and am always interested in knives that are designed with specific techniques in mind. This knife is extremely well made, has flawless fit and finish, and is clearly designed for “RGEI” (reverse-grip, edge in).

RGEI is an excellent approach to fighting against edged weapons at the closest range of attack. For that specific instance, this weapon could dominate.

I absolutely love the handling and the ergonomics of this knife. It’s very well thought out, and at this price point, I have no idea how they are able to produce such a beautiful, heavy duty piece. Mine has titanium handles that fade from deep blue, to bright purple, ending in a gold finish near the blade. There is a micarta insert that would probably be black if I brushed some oil into it. The pocket clip is well executed, providing a secure enough hold, with a smooth draw. Returning the knife to the pocket is easy enough as well. The knife has a lock bar insert, and the heavy frame gives confidence in the lockup. Deploying the blade is somewhat finicky, but I’m getting used to it. The detent is on point. Secure, but snappy. The position of my finger when flipping the blade out can occasionally interfere with the movement of the blade. I don’t know how to explain it, but this only happens when I deploy the blade in the “wrong” position. I’m still learning the knife.

The knife orients itself to a forward grip, edge in, or a reverse grip, edge in position. Other grips are possible, but the knife urges you to change its position.

It’s a very big knife. I own another, popular knife designed for this style, and it comes in at just over 7”. This knife dwarfs that specimen, at just over 9”, with a much higher arc to the blade orientation. It is quite simply a much more effective tool for this specific style. While the smaller knife might be carried more often…that is simply due to the odd nature of our society’s views on knives designed for self defense.

If you’re on the fence, pull the trigger. It’s what you want it to be, but be prepared for a larger than life, unapologetic knife that will get you to the HR office faster than you can say “But it’s a pruning tool for my garden!”.

    Micarta is not red

Awesome knife. Way bigger than expected, and the action is fantastic.
Buyer be warned, the micarta on the knife I received is not red; it looks like it was brown then someone rubbed it with sand paper in the middle of the insert. Still a steal at the price, and I’m happy with the purchase.

I love big knives and weird knives and this one fits all those categories, very strange knife but super cool. It would be a great EDC very useful in a self defense situation . The tip of the point is scalpel sharp I just felt it and it drew blood. Scary sharp. Pretty good action and good ergos. They did a great job on the Ano work and the red Micarta looks cool on it. Also can’t leave out the fact that I get all my knives from WMK well 95% of them. Great company with even better customer service. Every time I have a question I’ll send an email and they get back to you the same day as long as it’s not a late email. Can’t say enough good things about WMK highly recommend then. Class act company.
