Great looking knife and it feels good in hand. The action is smooth and flipper deployment is hard to fail. Detent is about perfect, lockup is about 40% and reasonably easy to unlock. It's very sleek and looks and feels expensive. A little aggressive on the styling but I like that and it isn't over the top at all.
It came with a good symmetrical factory edge but I sharpened it anyway at 17° per side on a Hapstone R2 using Poltava metal bonded CBN stones to get a feel of the heat treatment. It sharpened a little easier than the last M390 I shattered with the same setup which was a Bradford G3 so I think it's slightly softer. Maybe the Bradford is just extra hard, who knows. Time will tell how the edge holds up but it'll be used to open letters and boxes and packaging more than anything so I don't mind if it's not super hard.
All in all very pleased with the upgraded TS89. Fantastic larger EDC that feels smaller because it's svelt.
